With a string of feisty former lovers behind him, any future mother of Simon Cowell’s children may need a thick skin to withstand a backlash from one of his exes.

While Mezhgan Hussainy and Terri Seymour have voiced their opinions about The X Factor overlord’s alleged love child with US socialite Lauren Silverman, singing beauty Sinitta has so far only sent a cryptic tweet about the whole affair.

But if Lauren and Sinitta were to be weighed up against each other, who would come out on top?

Not much is known about Lauren Silverman, but what is clear is that she’s quite a pretty lady. With her long auburn locks, doe eyes and impressive bikini body, it’s not difficult to see why she would turn the heads of every man that went past.

She might be about to hit the big five-oh, but Sinitta could still pass for being in her late 20s. The 80s pop babe has kept herself in incredible shape, has a flawless complexion – and who can forget her palm leaves entrance on The X Factor?

While Lauren is indeed pretty, many people have noticed her likeness to Si’s former flame, Mezhgan Hussainy. But there is no Sinitta doppleganger. She is a true original beauty. So she wins this round.

Business acumen

While an actual career doesn’t seem to exist for Lauren (beyond being a self-employed ‘socialite’), reports suggest she has been cunning about how she gets her money. The 36-year-old married well with property tycoon Andrew – and The New York Post suggested that she kept her affair with Simon secret for over a year to ensure her 10-years-of-marriage clause in her pre-nup kicked in before divorce proceedings began. If that’s true, it could be seen as devious – and smart.

While many might question why Sinitta is actually famous, Cowell’s pal gained her fame and fortune all on her own. She did have some hits in the 80s – most notably So Macho – and had a semi-successful career in acting.

Relying on others for her income (Lauren is reportedly set to receive £3 million in child benefit from Simon), Si’s love child’s mother doesn’t really seem to have much going for her on her own. Sinitta, however, has proven she can keep herself going – decades after her music career dried up. Another round for Sinitta – can she make a full three for three?

Trustworthiness

Can Lauren be trusted? Pre-nup accusations aside, apparently Simon’s harem are now also saying ‘I told you so’ having allegedly said Lauren could not be trusted.

Sinitta was with Simon first and has stood by his side over the years since they met at the start of her career. She has proven herself as a loyal friend, and she seems like someone that can be relied on.

The picture painted of Lauren Silverman is pretty ugly. She has been branded a gold digger and a fraud by press around the world. Sinitta, by contrast, has a special place in everyone’s hearts. She wins this round hands down.

Overall winner

Winning by a clear mile, it’s Sinitta who walks away with this week’s crown. Lauren might be enjoying the press attention at the moment, but we can’t help but think Sinitta will still be a true friend to Uncle Si.

A chart battle, whether intentional or not, has been sparked across the pond between Lady Gaga and Katy Perry as both music ladies have released tracks in the same week.

Katy unleashed her latest banger, Roar, to her adoring public on Sunday, while Gaga was forced to rush-release her own tune, Applause, the following day after internet hackers leaked the song.

As the downloads and radio plays commence, by the weekend we’ll see which artist can shift more copies.

Both ladies have been on the defence by declaring their love and support for each other, insisting there is no rivalry between the two, but it seems an appropriate time to compare them to see who comes out on top.

Shock factor

Disco ball bras, meat dresses, no dresses – Lady Gaga definitely knows how to keep all eyes on her.

Her debut single caused a bit of controversy, but Katy seems to be more focused on creating decent music rather than outraging fans and critics. She might play it a bit more safe, although she keeps things sexy with her image.

While her shock tactics threaten to overshadow her actual music talent, Gaga can’t be beaten in this category.

Staying power

People have been gunning for Lady Gaga since the beginning. While her candy pop was hailed for its music writing, her ‘wacky’ personality confused many (Janet Jackson said in 2010 that she was impressed by Gaga’s music but would be interested to see how she could sustain her persona) and her bold image, although impressive, hasn’t really given her any way to grow. Becoming political is a mistake many musicians make (Madonna, U2), with the public turning on those who focus less on the music that made them famous and forcing opinions down their throats instead – and for some Gaga has already done this. And in the last week the Born This Way singer angered the very people who helped her build her career at the beginning when she told her fans to ignore bloggers, saying their opinions don’t count. She might have just bit the hand that feeds her… Furthermore, for all the fanfare around the Lady Gaga image, no one actually knows anything that real about her. How can people relate to a false image? Maybe it’s time for Stefani Germanotta to make an appearance?

From her tongue-in-cheek beginnings with I Kissed A Girl, to the more grown-up image of Teenage Dream, to the defiant divorced-woman-from-the-ashes anthem in Roar, Katy Perry has really grown as an artist and as a woman. She may go by a false name (she’s actually Katheryn Hudson) but she’s worn her heart on her sleeve since the beginning and opened up her personal and professional life to her fans. With her real-life issues acting as source material for her work, fans will be interested to hear what her upcoming album will contain. But of course, in keeping her private moments linked to her work, Katy might need to keep her own life interesting to keep her music interesting. And couldn’t that get exhausting? For everyone?

We’ve all seen pop acts rise and fall and Gaga’s pre-single rant against bloggers could cause those who have supported her from the start to turn against her. But Katy has always been pretty pleasant to everyone and gives her heart to her music. She seems more likely to last and thus wins this round.

Fan base

Of course no artist can get anywhere without the fans. And Lady Gaga has her ‘Little Monsters’ in bucket loads. Unfortunately, a fair few of them seem to be pretty aggressive (to say the least), throwing death threats at anyone who might challenge their ‘Mother Monster’. Despite Gaga herself preaching love and acceptance to her fans, they seem to do the opposite. But she can still rely on them for download sales.

Not without fans herself, Katy can rely on her Katy Kats to help promote and but her music. While most pop stars have their share of crazed fans (followers of 1D, Selena Gomez, and Taylor Swift fans have all been in the news lately for taking things to the extreme), so far it doesn’t seem that Katy has that many aggressive fans. She does, however, have the most Twitter followers for a female artist with more than 40million – beating Gaga and Rihanna.

If Twitter her following is anything to go by, Katy Perry wins this round.

Is there a real winner in this situation? Only time will tell. But for this Face Off, Katy has come out on top.

As Celebrity Big Brother launches another round of catfight, bitch-fest glory, we take a look at which wiley woman will reign as the queen of reality TV.

Geordie Shore’s Charlotte Crosby has long been the favourite of pop princess Cheryl Cole, but can the Tyneside lass take on all-American (part plastic) TV darling Courtney Stodden?

Find out as we pit the lary ladies against each other and predict who will stun viewers with their sex appeal, whose shock-record will have us glued to our screens, and who will win the ultimate fame game.

Sex appeal

At the age of 15, Courtney Stodden was crowned ‘Miss Ocean Shore Wa. Teen USA’ by Donald Trump’s Miss USA Organisation, and the buxom blonde is certainly a pretty woman beneath her thick layers of dolly slap.

But with a boob job that has left her ‘too enhanced’ for even Playboy to handle, it’s fair to say that Stodden may have taken “plastic fantastic” to an unnecessary extreme. Nevertheless, the model’s new curves make her feel ‘more like a woman’ and ‘more sexy’ than ever, and with a kinky “home-video” knocking about somewhere in the ether, this Barbie doll babe may have more sass than she is letting on.

Hardly a classy girl, Charlotte Crosby’s pulling advice doesn’t stretch much further than “don’t wear a bra’ and ‘get them nipples out’. She keeps a petite size 8 figure through an alcohol-fuelled intake of kebabs and a tinned-food diet (“three tins a day, any tins you want, beans, hot dogs, spaghetti, soup…”).

This might not bode for the healthiest looking bod, but then it’s not all about looks when it comes to animal magnetism. Charlotte’s on-off affair with cast mate Gaz has given Geordie Shore audiences an intimate insight to her love-making potential and the horny barmaid is regularly spotted getting her hump on. ‘You totally forget that the cameras are there’ the reality star explains – surely the titillating prospect of on-air sauce earns the naughty Northerner a few extra sex points.

Shock-Factor

Though Stodden’s 2011 teenage marriage to a man 35 years her senior was pretty darn shocking, no amount of daddy issues and flesh-flashing on Couples Therapy can match Crosby’s wild and wacky antics on Geordie Shore.

A girl of no shame, Charlotte regularly mine sweeps drinks, has tried to bed her boyfriend’s dad, and even, rather disgustingly, pissed in a sink. Branded a ‘psycho’ by her ex-boyfriends, the anger-fuelled star also sports some jaw-dropping Hulk-ish tendencies, having destroyed a bed with her bare hands, broken her foot in a rage, and gotten herself dramatically kicked out of the Geordie Shore house.

You might not invite her to your dinner party, but any lass so violent she’s been censored by MTV has got to get full marks for shock-factor.

Fame rating

Surprisingly, Courtney has the skills to stay on the celeb scene with indefinite longevity. She has composed and recorded several home-grown singles, and her track ‘Don’t put it on me Girl’ has over 6 and a half million views on You Tube.

On top of this, her husband is Green Mile actor Doug Hutchison – who knows what Hollywood doors this could open? Besides, if all else fails, Stodden could simply use her vegetarianism and PETA activism pull a Pammy and cling on to the limelight for a while longer yet.

Charlotte’s fame-rating is far more flash in the pan. The two time college dropout, has little talent beyond chopping lemons, and her dramatic outbursts are just as likely to see her in a strait jacket as on the box.

Perhaps there is a future for her as a Tequila Girl with her party-pals, DCR (the Dance Crew Rejects), but as her proudest achievement to date is being able to balance super noodles on her nipples, we’re not holding our breaths for a lifetime achievement award.

Overall Winner
While we can’t guarantee she’ll be the last in the house, Charlotte Crosby’s bonkers behaviour is what will keep us tuned in for this seasons Celebrity Big Brother.

Two fine footed beauties – but only one Glitter Ball Trophy.

With Abbey Clancy and Sophie Ellis-Bexter both sure to bring a level of glamour and sex-appeal to this years’ Strictly Come Dancing we will just have to see which – if either – of these babes can waltz their way to victory.

But as two of Britain’s finest ladies, we can pit them against each other now before the 11th series of the dance show has even begun.

Sex Appeal

Abbey Clancy shot to fame after appearing on Britain’s Next Top Model – coming second in the second series in 2006. She has since gone on to model for countless brands and posed in magazines including LOVE and Esquire. With her hot legs, blonde locks, and vulnerable looks, she is a perfect sex kitten from the catwalk. Married to goalie Peter Crouch since June 2011 she has added appeal as a WAG.

Sophie Ellis-Bextor is nothing short of sexy with her seductive eyes and dark hair. The singing babe has trumped over other beauties in the past including Victoria Beckham (whose number 1 dreams she trounced with her hit song Groovejet in 2000). A pin-up pop babe, Sophie also secured the affections of The Felling’s bassist Richard Jones who she married in 2005 – making her part of a hot music duo. She too has had a go at modelling having smouldered as a Rimmell girl in the past.

This one really is too close to call. Looks wise they are a sexy yin and yang combo – the kittenish Abbey v sexy babe Sophie, but we’d settle for either. A draw!

Reality Bites

Abbey is all about reality shows. After her appearance on BNTM she went on to seek the help of modelling legend Janice Dickinson in her show Beauty & The Beast as Abs tiered to crack America. She has since appeared on Hell’s Kitchen and was the hostess of The Great British Hairdresser.

Sophie has had a more serious approach to TV appearances – having leant her voice to childrens animation Robbie The Reindeer and also bagging a cameo in Ricky Gervais’ Life’s Too Short. However she did appear on The Million Poud Drop – along with her mum, former Blue Peter star Janet Ellis.

While Sophie might have inherited some fearless try-anything bravado from her mum, Abbey is already a bit of a pro when it comes to reality giving her a leg up for Strictly. Clancy steals this round.

Dancing Skills

Abbey has already admitted she lacks stamina and has low energy. The pretty blonde has also said she needs someone ‘who can disguise how bad I’ll be [at dancing]’ for taking part in the show and also said she’s not so competitive. Not sounding too confident about her dancing abilities there.

Having already provided something of an homage to ballroom dance from her Murder On The Dancefloor video, Sophie has shown off her skills before through her music videos. She also sounds confident about her chances saying: I’m not a bad person to be dancing with.’

With experience and confidence in spades, Sophie skips to victory in this round with ease.

Overall winner

Sophie can already dance, but Abbey has a lot of TV experience. However we’re torn over who is the sexiest as both ladies have a definite appeal. This face off has resulted in a draw – they will have to work it out on the dance floor.

Monday was quite the day for new music with contributions by everyone from James Arthur to Arcade Fire.

But in the female singer stakes two artists really stood out – Miley Cyrus and Iggy Azalea.

In a further effort to kill of her Disney persona, Miley teamed up with controversial photographer Terry Richardson for a sizzling new video in which she strips completely naked and rides a giant demolition ball.

Not to be outdone, Iggy (real name Amethyst Amelia Kelly) showed she had naked ambition by flashing her breasts in a see-through top in her Change Your Life video.

But which lady really is the sexiest? We pit them against each other in this weeks’ Face Off:

Sex Factor

Everyone thought they had seen it all when Miley stripped down to a skin-tight, skin-coloured outfit and gyrated next to Robin Thicke at the MTV VMAs last month. But now the singer is literally baring all as she strips off completely in her new video. But is her new found sexuality actually that sexy? It would seem not. Her twerk-a-thon with Thicke caused more upset than excitement. That said, she’s definitely a pretty girl – she just doesn’t need to try so hard.

Sizzling Iggy Azalea has been flaunting her body and dance moves since her first single, Work, dropped in March this year. She has gone on to belly dance in her Bounce video and bare her breasts in the Change Your Life video. All the while Iggy has shown a true awareness of her own sexual nature – giving off a genuine hot babe vibe.

With Miley’s latest routines proving a little too uncomfortable for most, Iggy walks away with this round for being an effortlessly sexy babe.

Reinvention

Before the dodgy dance routines there was Hannah Montana. The squeaky clean pop star/tv personality was the innocent alter-ego of Miley which provided her with her initial fame. The last few months have seen a desperate bid to kill off this image as Miley has undergone a punk reinvention and has sexed up her act to present herself in a new light. While some critics fear the star may be on the path to personal meltdown, it seems more likely that the singer just wants to be taken more seriously.

With no Disney past, Iggy hasn’t had to make herself appear more risqué – she’s done that from the beginning. Having moved to America at the age of 16, she told her parents she was going on holiday – and never went back. She apparently earned an income via ‘unconventional’ means but was keen to live out her American dream. Her path to rap/pop babe status appears natural and unforced.

While Iggy seems like a naturally sexy singer, the reinvention of Miley Cyrus has been nothing short of spectacular – even if it feels a bit forced. Cyrus win’s this round.

Love life

Miley met current beau and fiancé Liam Hemsworth on the set of her 2010 film The Last Song. For a pair of young Hollywood lovers these two have stayed incredibly strong – and kept their personal life relatively private. Trolls and unkind critics may call her a ‘slut’ but we think they’re just jealous.

For something of a siren Iggy too has had a tame love life. She had an on-off relationship with rapper A$AP Rocky which ended last summer (despite getting his name tattooed on her finger) and has been single ever since. However rumours have suggested she has her sights set on 1D star Harry Styles…

This round is a tricky one. Both ladies have proven they are sexy in their own right – and both have kind of wild attitudes. And yet, both could be taken home to meet your mother and you’d be sure they’d be pretty loyal. A draw!

Overall verdict

Two points each – these girls are neck and neck. But overall Iggy wins as she is single and seems a little more genuine.

Emma Willis is swapping Big Brother for The Voice in the new year as she takes control of the BBC’s flagship talent contest.

But with big shoes – and a plunging neckline – to fill in the shape of departing hostess Holly Willoughby, does Willis have what it takes to be the new princess of prime-time TV?

Sex appeal

Emma Willis has eyes like the ocean – begging you to dive in and have a relaxing swim. She has a sexy smile, a beautiful face, a slight frame and a sharp haircut. She is nothing short of a TV siren.

Holly Willoughby is championed by all as a TV babe. Her blonde locks, her curvaceous body and, of course, those boobs. She’s a frequent fixture on FHM’s 100 sexiest women poll and has as many female admirers as male.

Both girls are hotter than the sun, but Holly does hold the sexiest crown. For now. So she wins this round.

Journalistic integrity

Hailed as the new Davina McCall, Emma certainly rose to the challenge when it came to fronting Big Brother this summer. She took dealing with obnoxious contestants in her stride, successfully managing to control eviction interviews with some of the more fiery housemates who tried to take over the process. However, all the while she managed to keep balanced, composed and compassionate. She’s a bit of a natural and this will come in handy when it comes to quizzing The Voice contestants on their feelings, dealing with criticism from coaches, and offering a shoulder to cry on when they get voted off.

Holly, by contrast, has been slammed by critics for being nothing more than a pretty face incapable of asking difficult questions or providing any true insight or opinion. But her soft approach can be easily justified as she presents shows based as light entertainment – not Newsnight. Plus, who wouldn’t want to be embraced by the curvaceous blonde when they’ve been voted off by the public? Some could be forgiven for auditioning on The Voice for that reason alone.

While Holly is definitely the queen of daytime with her role on This Morning, she ultimately didn’t bring anything fresh to The Voice. Emma is unlikely to shy away from difficult situations as well as providing being a bit of a comfort blanket – she wins this round.

Music knowledge

Being married to a musician – former Busted star Matt Willis – gives Emma an upper hand as she basically lives with music. She will have an insight to the pressures of the music business and has an experienced musician on hand for extra insight and advice. Plus she started out her career on MTV – the home of music.

Holly covers a broad range of topics through her roles on This Morning and The Voice. She also used to front The Xtra Factor and was the face of CD:UK when it aired its final series. But she does seem more comfortable on shows like Celebrity Juice.

With a background in music and a pop star husband, Willis can’t be beaten in this round. Sorry Hol!

Overall verdict

After two lacklustre series on The Voice (most of which she didn’t even appear on the screen) it’s time for Holly to hang up her mic on the singing show. Emma is bound to bring a fresh new energy to the show – and, since Holly already dominates so much air time on TV, we can’t wait to see more of Emma on our screens.

There are arguments that, because of the abundance of TV talent shows now on our screens, there is just not enough raw talent to go around.

Indeed, this year’s Strictly Come Dancing and The X Factor shows have come under fire for featuring contestants with experienced pasts.

Corrie-turned-Strictly babe Natalie Gumede’s past as a skilled dancer has been exposed and X Factor hopeful Sam Bailey was rumbled for having performed on cruise ships.

While  both are incredible talents, we feel it’s the perfect opportunity to pit these ladies against each other in a new Face Off.

Sex Appeal

There is no question that Natalie is a sizzling star – and Strictly’s mildly erotic outfits and layers of sequins have allowed her to dazzle on national TV.

The ballroom style suits the actress much more than the plain outfits of Weatherfield. She is one TV babe who is literally hot to (fox)trot.

While Sam was nothing special with her scraped back hair and ‘I work as a prison officer’ stance, she certainly scrubbed up well after making it to the X Factor live shows. With a bit of lippy and new tousled locks, Kingsland Road have quite rightly branded her a MILF. And we can’t disagree.

While Sam has shone with the help of a style team, we can’t overlook the fact that Natalie was still stunning when playing a dressed-down soap star. The Strictly dancer wins this round.

Talent

Natalie has shown us her ‘cha cha cha’ and skipped like she’s walking on air while on the BBC dance show. It’s obvious she has a flare for the ballroom – and we kind of think she makes a better dancer than an actress…

Sam blew away judges and the audience from the off on The X Factor, with only Robbie Williams so far questioning her talents (Oh what does he know anyway?). Bookies have marked out Sam as a favourite for this year’s competition – and we can see her singing all the way to the finals.

Thanks for your dance moves Natalie – but thank you for the music Sam. Ms Bailey with her belting voice has to win this round.

Likeability

Forgive us for being unable to distinguish between fantasy and reality, but Natalie was so good as slap-happy villain Kirsty Soames on Coronation Street that we fear she might turn round and punch her dance partner Artem Chigvinstev in the face. We’re scared of her!

Sam makes the judges on The X Factor cry and touches the nation’s heart every time she takes to the stage to sing. Her powerful voice betrays her meek personality and she seems like the kind of woman you could ask for a hug – despite the fact she owns a baton for her rounds in the prison.

Kirsty, you’re gorgeous, but we can’t look at you without remembering the hell you put Tyrone through. Bubbly Sam walks away with this round.

Overall verdict

Both ladies have incredible talents, but Sam has won our hearts to win this Face Off.

Both One Direction and Kingsland Road were plucked from obscurity by the powers of The X Factor. Both were designed to send waves of teen angst rippling across the teen girl population. But only one can reign as the best of the boy bands.

In the latest round of endless comparison, Impossible-singer James Arthur made his allegiance clear, tweeting: ‘Im sorry but this Kingsland Road have me cringing to the max, they aren’t good enough. There time must come to an end this Sunday #xfactor.’

Burn.

Fans leapt to Kingland’s aid circulating #weloveyoukingslandrd, which was received by a very grateful tweet: ‘We love you more!!! I bet you! #weloveyoukingslandrd x KINGS’

Now, Face Off must settle the matter once and for all – which boy band’s style sizzles, which group are saucy sex pots, and whose controversial antics keep us glued to celebville.

Style

When it comes to style, East London has become synonymous with high-waisted hipster jeans, flatform platforms and beards – if you have enough testosterone to grow one, that is. But though Kingsland sport an appropriate number of carefully coiffed quiffs, their smorgasbord of clashy retro shirts fails to achieve even an inch of edge, and their super-synched dance moves are, well,  really quite cringey. Whether you love Dalston’s unique brand of fashionista, or simply love to hate them, Kingsland Road have surely marked the end of East End ‘cool’.

One Direction however, have managed to grope their way up to the next rung of the boy band evolutionary ladder. Harry, Niall, Zayn, Louis and Liam have shed the shiny polished scales of adolescence and emerged draped in oversized denim jackets, with po-faced pouts and an almost gritty allure.

If you’re not convinced, watch the video for Best Song Ever and revel in the pop regime rebellion as the boys announce: ‘We’d never wear that!’  (Harry Styles was in the front row of London Fashion Week remember…)

Sex appeal

Bless Kingsland’s Josh. He tried his hardest to get one up on 1D’s filth factor. He even once made the comparison: ‘I’d say we’re a little less ‘pretty pop’, more like dirty, cheeky pop.’ Sadly for him, when it comes to sex appeal the figures speak for themselves.

One Direction have amassed 15,767,720 frenzied followers on Twitter, while the Kingsland Road Twitter fan base amounts to a meagre 83,205 followers. Taking this into account, it’s fairly safe to say that there are thousands more young women who’d like to be the ‘I’ in 1D track You & I, and a far fewer number dreaming of being on the receiving end of Kingsland’s Marry You.

Besides, even when the 1D boys did ‘squeaky clean’, Styles Jagger swagger still had ladies in their mid-forties salivating at the mouth. Now that they have gone bad, Kingsland have no chance. Expect a swooning epidemic.

Controversy

The most controversial thing about Kingsland Road is the breaking revelation of their secret girlfriends. In an interview with mentor Gary Barlow Matt suggested that ‘there’s not really a ladies man in the group’ which has fuelled reports that Kingsland were ‘conning fans.’ Now this is naughty, but in all the wrong ways  – and Matt and JJ’s other halves are said to be not too happy about it either. Whoops!

One Direction continue to make their global presence felt and are even in with a chance of singing England’s official World Cup song, apparently. With ‘crap’  tattoos continuing to crop up all over their bodies – think Zayn’s pants Perrie pic, and Harry’s banal bowler-hatted skull – and the on-going ‘is Louis Tomlinson gay?’ ‘scandal’ (not to mention the ever-popular Larry Stylinson fantasy), controversy is something 1D do well. Consider our attention fully riveted.

Overall winner

Kingsland Road may feel like they are doing ‘something a bit different’ to the One Direction boys – but in this case different does not mean better.

It wasn’t her engagement to Kanye West that raised the biggest eyebrows last week – it was Kim Kardashian’s new friendship with Cheryl Cole that stunned fans.

How did it happen? When did they meet? Why is Chezza now posing for snaps alongside Kim’s 29-year-old sister Khloe? And, above all, which one is best?

We pit the premiere Kardashian against the nation’s sweetheart for the latest Face Off.

Looks

Cheryl is the face of L’Oreal and looks hot in her music videos. She has perfect abs, great boobs and natural beauty. Her highly publicised rose tattoo has split opinion, however. Has she tarnished her own brand?

Kim K has a butt to rival Nicki Minaj, 30, boobs that are better than Beyonce, and (in her own words) a vagina that, post baby, is ‘better looking than ever before’. She’s posed naked on the cover of W magazine and has tried everything from Botox to blood facials to keep herself looking good.

Cheryl has the natural beauty but Kim has gone to extremes to keep herself looking pert. The Kardashian deserves to be rewarded for her efforts so wins this round.

Love life

Cheryl has found herself recently single following her 14-month relationship with Tre Holloway, 28. Before that was the on-off, married-divorced soap opera that was her relationship with love rat Ashley Cole. While Chezza hasn’t had the best of luck with men, her love life has kept her in the papers.

Kim is now engaged to Kanye West but it’s not the first time she’s been asked for her hand in marriage. She was married to record producer Damon Thomas for four years from  2000 and made a mockery of nuptials when her marriage to Kris Humpries ended after only 72 days. Will her love to West last? Only time will tell…

Kim has been around the block and just how ‘real’ are her relationships when they serve as plot devices for Keeping Up With The Kardashians? Cheryl is much less of a sell-out and seems to believe in love despite her marriage and relationship woes. She wins this round.

Career

Chez went from obscurity to superstardom thanks to Popstars: The Rivals and Girls Aloud. Next she went solo and appeared as a judge on The X Factor before trading in British shores for America to appear on The X Factor USA (but was axed after a matter of days) and snatching a bit part in a Hollywood film. She continues to front campaigns for L’Oreal but after splitting with Will.i.am as a music partner, her career is looking unclear for the future…

Kim K used her reality show to claw her way into the limelight, securing fashion deals and magazine spreads in her way. Her hugely publicised relationship with Kanye West has introduced her to a whole new echelon of celebrity. Her career is bound to keep going up and up.

While Chez is a British star, she hasn’t quite made it across the pond (which might explain why she’s suddenly trying to get in bed with the Kardashian clan). Kim, meanwhile, has scraped together column inches the world over and is inescapable. She wins this round.

Overall winner

Fame is the only thing Kim Kardashian wants and it’s what she is managing to maintain. She outranks Cheryl in this Face Off by a long shot.

While Joey Essex is favourite to win this year’s I’m A Celeb… we have a sneaking suspicion one of the girls could give him a run for his money.

We’ reckon Rebecca Adlington and Lucy Pargeter could be crowned jungle champions.

But which of these ladies is likely to triumph over the other? We put them to the test….

Sex appeal

It certainly seems some ladies aim to gain votes by taking long showers in revealing bikinis (Helen Flanagan and Myleene Klass, for example). And while it is expected this will be the main tactic of Miss Great Britain Amy Willerton, both Rebecca and Lucy could scoop up some votes with their own physique.

As an Olympic swimmer, 24-year-old Rebecca will have no issues with her perfectly toned body. And while Lucy is a little older at 36, she still has the body many women in their twenties would envy – and has reportedly packed three bikini’s for her trip.

With her experience of posing for sexy pics in underwear, we think Lucy will just pinch the ‘sexier’ crown in this round.

Longevity

With her first TV appearance in 1996, Lucy has over 17 years of experience in acting – with her most famous role to date playing Chas Dingle in Emmerdale. Acting can be a harsh workplace but if this soap babe can survive ten years of Dingle drama, we’re pretty sure she won’t be too worried by the challenges of the jungle.

She may be only 24 but Rebecca has already retired from her sport. She bagged seven gold medals over her five-year professional career which is truly inspiring and impressive.

While we can see Lucy acting for years to come, Rebecca has already called time on her career. Of the two, we could see Rebecca quitting the show if things get too tough.

Fearlessness

Despite swimming for a profession, Rebecca has reportedly admitted she is afraid of water – which might be an issue during the trials. She has also confessed she won’t be competing to win on the show – which doesn’t bode well if she has second thoughts.

‘There is nothing I am really petrified of as a lot of it is mind over matter. You have not got any choice and you have to do it,’ says Lucy – adding that ‘boredom’ is the only possible risk to her time on the show. Will she change her mind once she’s in a box of live spiders during the trials?

While it’s easy to say you’re fearless when watching the show, there’s no doubt it will be a different story when living in the jungle with creepy crawlies. But we do believe Lucy will take on whatever challenge she’s set. We fear Rebecca might bottle it.

Overall winner

Lucy has won outright in this latest Face Off – but at least Rebecca has a bunch of gold medals from her career to distract her from losing this time.

James Arthur may have beaten Lucy Spraggan to The X Factor title last year but everyone is fair game for our celebrity Face Off.

The pair have made headlines recently for locking horns over Arthur’s homophobic slur.

In a nutshell, he said ‘f****** queer,’ she said ‘#donthate,’ and it ended with him calling her an ‘attention seeker’.

Having only recently vowed to quit Twitter for good, Arthur must be wishing he’d kept his word…

Showbiz Allies

He may constantly tell us all about how much he loves JLS  but, after Arthur called rapper Micky Worthless ‘a f***ing queer’, it’s no wonder he has gone down in everyone’s estimations.

While fans rushed to return their tickets, celebrities like comedians Matt Lucas and Frankie Boyle also made their opinions known. ‘F*** you @JamesArthur23,’ tweeted the Little Britain star. Elegantly put. Even former X Factor contestant Katie Waissel threw her oar in, saying: ‘Just remember, I hated James Arthur before it became fashionable!’

Having dissed Matt Cardle’s music (he said it was for ‘bedwetters’), waged war on One Direction, and tweeted: ‘f*** boybands! Bring on the hate I don’t wanna be popular’, Arthur is proof that wishes can come true.

Spraggan, on the other hand, has her pride intact, and her allies reinforced. No one could argue that someone promoting equality is not going to come off well. And, while it’s not likely any old celeb could compare to bezzie Rylan Clark, fans of The Tea And Toast singer include Cher Lloyd, 1D’s Louis Tomlinson, and Professor Green. Celebrity allies by the armful.

Career

He may have taken The X Factor title but if Arthur can’t be a graceful winner, then frankly he’s much more of a loser. His latest Twitter altercation with Spraggan saw him boasting like a pathetic child: ‘My album sold 10 times youres (sic) in its first week so you can f*** off with your career sh***.’ Besides, if fans do boycott his album, he is looking towards a definite nose-dive in sales.

It is also worth remembering that while Impossible is one of the biggest-selling debut singles by an X Factor winner, Alexandra Burke and Shayne Ward reached similar dizzying sales heights. And, while their X Factor success should be applauded, their career trajectories haven’t exactly skyrocketed.

Spraggan has had a far rockier ride, after first having to deal with her grandmother’s death during The X Factor run, and then being forced to pull out due to illness. That said, even without the spring board of a grand X Factor finish, Spraggan has performed alongside Razorlight and is signed to Columbia Records (home to Bob Dylan, Bruce Springsteen, Kings of Leon and MGMT). She even released her major label debut Join The Club this Autumn. Not bad for a non-finisher.

Spraggan also get extra brownie points for dealing with Arthur’s bratty behaviour so wonderfully. ‘10 times in the first week hahahahahahahahaha,’she tweeted, ‘Good, I’m glad. Enjoy.’

Maybe the slowly and surely approach will win the sales race, maybe it won’t. But, if it doesn’t, it still beats being an ignorant idiot.

Party Power

Regardless of their respective careers, happiness is surely the true gauge of success.

‘I’ve done enough partying in my lifetime’, ‘I’m pretty much done,’ said Arthur earlier this year. This doesn’t sound like fun. But even in his partying days Arthur wasn’t exactly a barrel of laughs. ‘I can be an aggressive drunk, I do think I’m hard when I’ve had a bit to drink, I think I’m Rocky I could fight anyone,’ he said. Really. Not. Cool.

As Arthur’s nights out sound like they all end up in a jail cell, a night out with Spraggan would be incomparably better. Whether getting kicked out of hotels, popping corks in her Late Night (Beer Fear) music video, or ramping up the merry-making with party pal ­Rylan Clark, Spraggan definitely knows how to live it large.

Now we all know that alcohol is not essential to having fun but this is the girl who drinks up to 25 bottles of beer in a night, has a random fan’s name tattooed on her bum and once confessed: ‘I took a horse into a pub once.’ Wild.

The Verdict?

She won her war of words on Twitter with a victorious: ‘Don’t f*** with the gays.’  Another lesson Arthur should learn is: ‘Don’t f*** with Lucy Spraggan.’  Win.

It a case of Mr and Mrs Carter against Mr and Mrs Kim Kardashian as we examine which of these power couples is really the best.

It’s not going to be pretty, but let’s find out who comes out on top in this Face Off.

Talent

Jay Z is the king of rap and hip hop with an illustrious career that has spanned four decades, spawned 12 albums, countless collaborations, formed record labels, fashion lines and netted a cool $500million. Wife Beyonce is a similar music phenomenon. She started off in the incredible Destiny’s Child before heading off into solo territory. She now boasts five solo albums, collaborations with the hottest women in music (including Shakira and Lady Gaga) a fashion line, fragrances and endorsement deals with everyone from Pepsi to Armani.

Kanye West may have compared himself to everyone from Willy Wonka to God, but he still has some way to go before he can topple Mr Carter’s crown – although he is making fast work. Since exploding on to the music scene at the turn of the century, he has produced six albums – plus a collaborative one with Jay. He’s entered the world of fashion and even film and appears to have it all. Except a sense of humour. Meanwhile, wife Kimmy… well, credit where credit’s due. She has built an epic empire out of nothing. Her reality show Keeping Up With The Kardashians is an international hit and, by nabbing West as a husband, her credibility has been boosted. Although it remains to be seen how genuine their relationship is and if she just views West as an extra way to make some quick cash.

There’s no debating Jay, Bey and West all have phenomenal talent. But Kim lets the side down by being famous for nothing. As a result, she and her husband lose this round based on talent, handing the first point to Beyonce and Jay Z.

Lover’s support

Beyonce is the epitome of an Independent Woman. Strong, successful, beautiful – she literally wrote the book (or rather, song) on the topic. Jay, similarly, had a wealth of success prior to marrying Ms Knowles. But together they are an even stronger unit. Popping up on each other’s records and music videos, they are a true power couple – and yet look cute together (as demonstrated in new video Drunk In Love released by Beyonce).

While Kim has made herself a success (whether the general public like it or not), it has to be asked if she would have been as successful without Power Mum Kris Jenner pulling the strings behind the scenes. In the past she has used boyfriends/husbands seemingly to garner more gossip column inches – and really appears to have crowbarred herself into Kanye’s latest video for Bound 2. West, on the other hand, appears to have been instrumental in changing Kim’s personal style to make it less trashy and more classy. But will it last?

Kim and Kanye seem to rely on each other for very specific reasons. Whereas Jay Z and Beyonce seem like a true genuine couple. They win this round too.

Personalities

Jay Z seems like a nice guy, doesn’t he? You could have a proper chat, maybe debate some stuff. Or just have a laugh. Similarly Beyonce seems almost impossibly nice. Always gracious. Always polite. Sure, she admitted she has a split personality (Sasha Fierce) but even she seems fun.

It’s no secret that Kanye is insufferable to most. An over-inflated ego of intergalactic proportions and a seemingly genuine God complex. In Kayne’s world, he can’t see beyond himself. He can’t discuss anything except himself. But he can’t ever have a joke about himself (fish sticks, anyone?). Meanwhile Kim seems to be pretty self-centred as well. Always in front of a camera exposing whatever daily drama she is enduring or uploading a fresh ‘selfie’. It’s impossible not to feel overloaded by her.

There is no contest. Kim and Kanye are vapid and exhausting. But Beyonce and Jay seem lovely and endearing. Another win for them.

Overall outcome

Beautiful, polite, accomplished and successful – Bey and Jay win by a country mile. Who wouldn’t love to have them round for a dinner party?
