Brian Dowling v Emma Willis: Big Brother Face Off

Brian Dowling and Emma Willis
Axed Big Brother host Brian Dowling goes head to head with his replacement, Emma Willis, in our Celebrity Face Off (Picture: Channel 5)

After weeks of speculation Emma Willis has officially nabbed Brian Dowling’s Big Brother job, but who will win our Celebrity Face Off?

TV career

After his 2001 Big Brother win, Brian went on to become the first openly gay children’s TV presenter when he landed a job on SMTV Live. He narrated the final series of Channel 4 reality show The Salon and has co-hosted various awards ceremonies in his time. He hosted a showbiz slot on Vernon Kay’s BBC Radio 1 Saturday morning show from 2004 to 2006 and was a contestant on Hell’s Kitchen in 2007. He’s also did All Star Family Fortunes and Come Dine With Me before signing up as Big Brother’s frontman when the show moved to Channel 5.

Former model Emma Willis shot to stardom in 2002 presenting MTV UK. In 2007, Willis presented I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here! NOW! alongside her Busted hubby Matt before quitting in 2008. Aside from Big Brother, she’s guest hosted a number of Loose Women episodes and landed a permanent spot on This Morning in September last year. She also presents Sunday’s breakfast show on Heart FM alongside Stephen Mulhern from Britain’s Got More Talent.

Winner: Brian’s certainly done well for himself considering his civilian roots but Emma’s CV is more high-profile. This one goes to Emma.

Big Brother

Former air steward Brian Dowling was crowned the winner of Big Brother’s second series in 2001 and has been voted the show’s favourite housemate endless times since. Brian returned to the show in 2010 for Ultimate Big Brother where he was crowned champ yet again. When the show moved over to Channel 5 in 2011 the 34-year-old Irish star replaced Davina McCall as show host. The camp star presented four series of Celebrity Big Bro and two series of the original format before getting the boot. Dowling has been tipped to host spin-off show Big Brother’s Bit On The Side, although we reckon he won’t take too kindly to the demotion.

Emma Willis started out on Big Brother’s Little brother alongside George Lamb in 2009. The following year she went solo after Lamb was dropped and the year after that, when the show moved from Channel 4 to Channel 5, she hosted Big Brother’s Bit On The Side where she resided until her recent promotion. Emma, 37, is now the third presenter to front the show in its thirteen-year history.

Winner: Brian has Big Brother to thank for his celeb status, he’s a true Big Brother stalwart and somebody who will be greatly missed. However, he never did quite manage to fill Davina’s shoes and mum-of-two Emma has been dubbed her ‘true successor’. We just can’t call this one.

Davina McCall during the Big Brother 10 launch night
Emma has been tipped as the next Davina McCall (Picture: PA)

Prospects

Ok, so Brian’s got the boot but even if he doesn’t take the Big Brother’s Bit On The Side job we don’t think we’ve seen the last of him yet. If the rumours are true and Rylan Clark’s going over to Channel 5 to do the job instead we wouldn’t mind seeing Brian on The Xtra Factor alongside Caroline Flack. This guy loves reality TV and he’s bound to bag a juicy job.

If Emma really is the next Davina McCall she’s got a sunny outlook ahead of her, and presumably a cheesy fitness DVD too.

Winner: We’re convinced Brian will be just fine without Big Brother but Emma has quickly risen the ranks and we don’t see her bubble bursting anytime soon.

Emma WIllis and Brian Dowling

Overall winner

We love both these guys and although we’re sad the show has driven a wedge between these two pals, we’re really hoping Emma lives up to expectations. Emma wins this one.

Professor Green v Made In Chelsea’s Spencer Matthews: Celebrity Face Off

Professor Green and Spencer Matthews
Professor Green and Spencer Matthews go head to head in our Celebrity Face Off

It is no secret that Professor Green (real name, Stephen Manderson, 29) will always fight for himself and those he loves. So it’s no shock that when smug faced Made In Chelsea star Spencer Matthews, 25, made derogatory remarks about Pro and his relationship with his fiancée, MIC beauty Millie Mackintosh, 23, it was handbags at 20 paces tweets. But who will win in our Celebrity Face Off?

Career

Despite a dubious start as a drug dealer, Professor Green found his true calling when he embarked on a music career after free-styling in a rap contest. Pro has gone on to release two gold certified albums (Alive Till I’m Dead was #2 in 2010, while At Your Inconvenience hit #1 in 2011), a plethora of top 5 singles, and can easily sell out a UK tour.

Despite having his personal life documented in all five series of Made In Chelsea (series 5 begins next week), it’s still not entirely clear what Spencer does for a living. Apparently he’s a broker and hotel empire heir, but we’ve never seen him lift a finger in all the time the cameras have rolled. Does he ever do any work? Starring in a reality show surely can’t count as a job, can it?

Winner: Successful career versus apparent non-existent career… Pro wins this round very easily.

Girlfriends

They haven’t had the easiest time in the press, or from Made In Chelsea cast members, but Professor Green and his Millie Mackintosh have proved love conquers all by getting engaged in Paris last month. With Pro’s music success, and Millie’s column inch-attracting activities, these two are quite the power couple.

Spencer proves again and again that he should never be trusted in the relationship stakes. He was a s*** to Funda, Caggie realised there were better men out there, he was on The Bachelor but clearly didn’t care about the women on that, and poor Louise continues to be mistreated by him. Oddly women seem to continue to throw themselves at him, despite his personality being like relationship kryptonite. But it’s clear this love rat can’t settle down.

Winner: Pro has found the love of the life having secured Millie’s affections. Meanwhile Spencer’s track record suggests he could end up being single forever. Round 2 goes to the Professor.

Likeability

1.7 million twitter followers, a number 1 record, millions of screaming fans – and yet he still has his head squarely on his shoulders. Professor Green is the kind of guy everyone would want as a best mate.

Annoys the life out of MIC viewers, is the worst boyfriend you could ever ask for, and, as Pro Green put it, is “silly”, “ pompous” and “begging for attention”… Spencer just doesn’t sound very likable at all.

Winner: Professor Green again barely has a challenge in this section. He wins.

Overall winner

It’s not really a contest, is it? With Professor Green being just so damn lovable  and Spencer being down right despicable, Pro wins this Face Off without breaking a sweat.

Ant McPartlin v Declan Donnelly: Celebrity Face Off

Ant & Dec's Saturday Night Takeaway
Ant and Dec go head to head in our Celebrity Face Off (Picture: ITV)

So Ant & Dec’s Saturday Night Takeaway is drawing to a close – and what a great run it’s been – but fear not, because Ant McPartlin and Declan Donnelly are back next weekend bringing us all the behind-the-scenes gossip from the hotly anticipated series of Britain’s Got Talent. And more than 20 years after the Geordie duo paired up on Byker Grove we’re yet to see Ant and Dec go it alone, but only one can win our Celebrity Face Off…

Love life

We’ve been trying to partner him up for years and so Declan Donnelly’s on-screen flirting with Ashley Roberts really kicked up a storm when the Dancing On Ice judge landed a cameo role on the latest series of Ant & Dec’s Saturday Night Takeaway. We’re just dying for them to make it official!

Ant on the other hand has been settled down for a while now. In 2006 he tied the knot with longtime girlfriend and make-up artist Lisa Armstrong after 12 years together. Dec was best man at their wedding and he’s a regular at their dinner table, obviously.

Winner: We’re glad Ant’s all happy and settled down and we’re extra glad he’s still playing the role of Dec’s wing man on SNT. However, Dec and Ashley’s will they/won’t they conundrum has really captured the hearts of the nation. JUST GET TOGETHER, GUYS!!! This one goes to Dec.

SNT
Dec is always flirting with Ashley Roberts on Ant & Dec’s Saturday Night Takeaway (Picture: ITV)

Best catch

So Ant’s settled down and Dec’s still (kinda) up for grabs, but who’s the better catch? Ant’s got that tall, dark and handsome thing going on and we don’t really mind his slightly disproportionate forehead. Dec’s a fair bit shorter and we’re not too sure if he’s receding or not, but he’s definitely the funnier of the two. Either that or he gets all the best gags.

Winner: Say - hypothetically speaking – Ant wasn’t always on the left and Dec wasn’t always on the right, we’re thinking these two would be barely differentiable. We’d be happy to take home either after seeing their Let’s Get Ready To Rhumble moves in all their glory last month. This round’s a draw.

Ant & Dec doing Let's Get Ready To Rhumble on Saturday Night Takeaway
PJ & Duncan’s Let’s Get Ready To Rhumble went on to reach No.1 after their SNT comeback (Picture: ITV)

Solo prospects

So we’re thinking Dec is better equipped to hack it on his lonesome rather than Ant. Dec and Ashley have proved to be a very watchable double act, a bit like Dermot O’Leary and Davina McCall, right? We could really see these two lovebirds bagging a slot on Children In Need or something.

Without Dec we’re thinking Ant would call it a day and live the quiet life. It’s that simple. Is everyone agreed?

Winner: We don’t ever want to see these two go their seperate ways but if IF they did, we think Dec would be the better off.

Declan Donnelly
Dec on his own, what d’ya reckon? (Picture: Xposurephoto.com)

Overall Winner

Dec may not have the tall, dark and handsome thing going on like Ant but he’s probably the more likable of the two. He’s racking up headlines left, right and centre on his lonesome now that he has the former Pussycat Doll Ashley on his arm.

Made In Chelsea’s Spencer Matthews v Francis Boulle: Celebrity Face Off

Francis Boulle v Spencer Matthews
Made In Chelsea stalwarts Francis Boulle and Spencer Matthews go head-to-head in our Celebrity Face Off (Picture: E4)

Made In Chelsea is back and the first episode went down a storm as Spencer Matthews and Francis Boulle rode the aftermath of their gripping Christmas fallout. Spencer is STILL furious Francis (rightfully?) exposed his infidelity and Francis is still struggling to empathise with his cheating nemesis. Season 5 will undoubtedly make for the ideal backdrop as this vicious feud rumbles on but who will our Celebrity Face Off?

The Louise Thompson saga

At the end of series 4 Francis continued on his mission to take down Spencer when he revealed his slimy co-star had cheated on Louise Thompson with pretty brunette Lucy Watson. Spencer was livid Francis had let the cat out of the bag, claiming the Diamond magnate has stabbed him in the back. Francis claims his loyalties lie with Louise, whom he has known from the tender age of 11. When Louise starts to get upset over Spencer’s indiscretion following a fleeting visit from Lucy in last night’s show, Spenny gets agitated, tells his missus to ‘get over it’ and walks out on their romantic dinner leaving a sobbing Louise in the lurch.

Winner: We’re really struggling to see Spencer’s point of view on this one. Francis is sticking by his guns and we’re certain he’s going to come out on top, despite Spencer’s claims that everyone will now see him for the ‘pathetic loser’ he really is. Hmmm. Francis wins.

Louise Thompson
Francis revealed Spencer had cheated on his girlfriend Louise Thompson at Christmas (Picture: E4)

Proudlock and Jamie Laing

Oliver Proudlock and Jamie Laing have been caught in the middle of MIC originals Spencer and Francis and they’re struggling to stay on the periphery. Spencer told the duo they would have to choose between he and Francis on last night’s episode, with the boys eventually signing the papers to move in with Francis at the end of the show. Ouch!

And let’s not forget Spencer stabbed Jamie in the back when he and Louise hitched up in Dubai while Jamie was dating her back in season 3. Another home truth Francis had to break.

Winner: Jamie went back to Spencer last time around but we’re hoping he’s starting to see Spencer’s true colours with the help of his new best pal Francis. This one goes to Francis too.

Oliver Proudlock and Jamie Laing
Oliver Proudlock and Jamie Laing are caught in the middle (Picture: E4)

Entertainment factor

Whether you love him or loathe him Spencer has been MIC’s focal point simply because he is the most entertaining. His misplaced confidence, womanising tendencies and lack of loyalties has seen him fall out with the majority of the cast at some point. He’s definitely the villain of the show.

Francis rarely takes centre-stage but his witty one-liners and home truths make for compelling viewing. He always takes the moral high ground and we love it that he’s the only one of the lot willing to drop Spencer in the doo-doo, no matter what the cost.

Winner: We’d love to see more of Francis but until then, Spencer wins this one.

Overall winner

Spencer’s woes have dominated Made In Chelsea since its inception but it’s about time he was knocked off the top spot and we’re thinking Francis would be the perfect candidate. Francis wins!!

One Direction’s Louis Tomlinson v The Wanted’s Tom Parker: Celebrity Face Off

Louis Tomlinson and Tom Parker
Louis Tomlinson and Tom Parker go head-to-head in our Celebrity Face Off

So One Direction and The Wanted came to (online) blows yet again this week but this time it was Louis Tomlinson and Tom Parker at the forefront of the Twitter bicker. Fellow bandmates Liam Payne and Jay McGuiness also gave as good as they’ve got and even their girlfriends Eleanor Calder and Kelsey Hardwick threw their two-penneth in. A boyband truce seems a long way off, but which teenage dream will win our Celebrity Face Off?

Looks

When it comes to One Direction, Louis Tomlinson is by far the most fashion forward of the pack. He experiments with his style and is the only one of the lot who would fit in well with the T-Birds. At 5’9″ he’s not the tallest of the bunch either but there’s just something about the 21-year-old singer which makes the ladies swoon.

Tom Parker is slighter taller than Louis at 5’10” and although he’s definitely darker, is he more handsome? We’ll leave that one up to you. The 24-year-old is more of a jeans and T-shirt kinda guy and we’re super glad he’s ditched the earrings.

Winner: Both boys are somewhat overshadowed by the ladies men of their respective groups I.e. Max George and Harry Styles, but it’s Louis who really stands out from the crowd with his quirky sense of style and slicked back hair. He’s like a little Kenickie or something. Louis wins this one.

One Direction have been filmed shirtless for their new 3D film (Picture: PA)
One Direction certainly don’t disappoint when it comes to looking good (Picture: PA)

Success

One Direction continue to rock the world with their catchy tracks and maturing good looks and we’re assuming they’re only going to get bigger and better as they prepare to take their Take Me Home tour worldwide in the coming weeks. Tracks from their second album Live While We’re Young, Little things and Kiss You have all gone down a storm and they’re not showing any signs of slowing.

The Wanted haven’t been so forthcoming when it comes to churning out the hits of late. The fivesome are yet to release their third studio album after pushing the release date back from December 2012 to perfect their sound. The boys have recruited the likes of Pitbull, Chris Brown and Rita Ora to boost their profile but for now they’re busy gearing up for their own reality series called The Wanted Life which is expected on UK TV in the Autumn. We’re assuming it’s going to be a bit like Chasing The Saturdays and we’re feeling a bit indifferent.

Winner: Put it this way, we can’t wait for 1D in 3D and The Wanted Life isn’t really whetting the appetite quite as much. One Direction continue to prove that X Factor exports are nothing to be sniffed at although the fact Simon Cowell is the driving force behind them probably helps. Louis wins this one too.

The Wanted

Trash talking

Ok so these boys can get prettttty cheesy when it comes to slating each other on Twitter. Last year Zayn Malik called Max George ‘Chlamydia boy’ and we’d hoped the petty insults had ended there.

However, Louis reignited the boyband war when he dissed The Wanted and the boys’ latest foe Jake Bugg at a recent gig.

After getting wind of the jibe, Tom tweeted: ‘@Louis_Tomlinson you even talk about us at your own gigs. Are you that upset you didn’t get in this band?’

Louis responded: ‘@tomthewanted Pal, we both know I wouldn’t waste my time auditioning for your band. You humour me with your bad boy persona,’ adding: ‘@TomTheWanted bad boys for life.’

The back and forth went on for a while with Louis ultimately calling Tom ‘the biggest t**t on Twitter’.

Winner: These boys are hardly the next Oasis vs. Blur so we think you should all give it a rest. At 24, Tom has a few vital years on Louis and we think he should probably be setting the example. They’re both as bad as each other. Nobody wins this one.

Eleanor Calder and Louis Tomlinson

Overall winner

One Direction win all things, ever, and this Face off is no exception. Louis Tomlinson wins.

The Saturday night ratings war is in full swing after the seventh series of Britain’s Got Talent kicked off last weekend and so far it looks as though Simon Cowell’s ITV juggernaut is going to triumph over The Voice for the second year in a row. But which TV talent show will come out on top in this week’s Face Off?

Judges

Will.i.am, Danny O’Donoghue, Jessie J and Tom Jones are back for the second series of The Voice and so far they’re doing a good job of reminding us why we switched off last year. They know what they’re talking about and they’re definitely passionate when it comes to winning over acts but there’s definitely something missing.

Over on ITV, Simon Cowell, David Walliams, Alesha Dixon and Amanda Holden are also back for a second year running. This lot are much more relatable and have a real chemistry both on and off screen.

Winner: When it comes to knowing their field The Voice coaches trump the BGT lot. However, Simon, David, Alesha and Amanda are way more entertaining and far less annoying. BGT wins this one.

The Voice
The Voice’s ratings are continuing to tail off (Picture: Xposurephotos.com/BBC)

Ratings

The second series of The Voice UK hasn’t got off to the best of starts with ratings down nearly 2 million on last year. The BBC show was trumped by Ant & Dec’s Saturday Night Takeaway in its opening week and ratings dived when BGT got underway last week. Nevertheless, audience figures are still impressive with 6.7m viewers tuning in on Saturday. Now the show has been rescheduled for a later time to avoid as much overlap as possible with BGT, this week could see audiences figures jump.

BGT, however, scored its highest opening night ever on Saturday with more than 10m tuning in. Simon Cowell is so confident he’s going to win the 2013 ratings war, ITV are even allowing Jessie J et al to promote The Voice on ITV chat shows nowadays.

Winner: We’ll let the figures do the talking, BGT wins this one.

BGT judges
The BGT judges have a real connection (Picture: Xposurephoto.com)

Talent

The Voice prides itself on eking out talent purely based on, well, talent. This year’s series has already seen a number of powerful singers take to the stage and with the blind audition rounds set to continue in the weeks to come, we’re assuming there’s loads more gifted wannabes heading our way.

BGT has seen its fair share of jaw-dropping talent i.e Attraction, Jack Carroll and Alice Fredenham, but also a lot of deluded wannabes too.

Winner: Whether they’re good or bad, BGT’s crop of wannabes are certainly more entertaining but if you’re looking for pure unadulterated talent, BBC One’s for you. This one’s a draw.

Overall winner

The Voice was a disappointment last year and is so far delivering the same banality this year. BGT has it all; talent, humour, touching backstories, plenty of banter, Ant & Dec and most importantly, Simon Cowell. BGT wins.

Pregnant Kim Kardashian v Kourtney Kardashian: Celebrity Face Off

Kourtney and Kim Kardashian
Kourtney and Kim Kardashian go head-to-head in our Celebrity Face Off (Picture: Xposurephotos.com)

We’ve lived and breathed every moment of Kim Kardashian’s pregnancy and we’ve done it twice before with her elder sister Kourtney. The reality superstars have dealt with motherhood in very different ways but who will win our Celebrity Face Off?

Babydaddy

Before the eldest Kardashian sister came along Kourtney’s babydaddy Scott Disick was a little known New Yorker. After years of struggling to fit in with the Kardashian clan Lord Disick seems to be  finally making headway. He’s appeared to curb his wild nights out and looks to be a model father to their two kids, three-year-old Mason and 9-month-old Penelope.

Kim Kardashian’s beau Kanye West isn’t around so much for now but we’re assuming when their baby arrives in July he’s going to be in town a bit more. Baby Kimye will certainly have all he or she could ever want from life and with Beyoncé Knowles and Jay-Z allegedly lined up as godparents, the one on the way is definitely an A-Lister in the making.

Winner: Kourt and Scott appear to have ironed out their differences but we’re still feeling a bit wary here at Guilty Pleasures. We’re yet to see whether Kanye will be a hands-on dad but he’s definitely going to be able to provide for his sprog. Kanye wins this round.

Kourtney and her longtime partner Scott Disick have two children together, Mason, 3, and 9-month-old Penelope (Picture: INFphoto.com)

Timing

Kourtney accidentally fell pregnant with Mason at the height of her relationship woes in 2009. Scott was fond of all night benders at the time and Kourtney was left holding the baby. Luckily the couple were more prepared when little Penelope came along last summer.

Kim was equally stunned when she found out she was expecting her first child late last year. Married to Kris Humphries at the time, the situation was not ideal. However, she’s since divorced the NBA basketball pro and we wouldn’t be surprised if she and Kanye officially wed before baby Kimye is born. Obviously the big lavish bash would follow afterwards when the 32-year-old mummy has slimmed down.

Winner: Although Kim was married to another man when she fell pregnant with Kanye’s baby, these two are made for each other. They’ve been friends for years, are both big players in the fame game and their little one has a secure and stable upbringing ahead. Unfortunately, we’re not convinced the same could be said for the adorable Dash-Disicks. Kim wins this round.

Maternity wear

Kourtney took to pregnancy like a duck to water. She embraced her curves and pulled out endless maternity dresses that flattered her changing shape both times around.

Kim on the other hand has seriously struggled to get to grips with her extra pounds. Hats off to her for refusing to give up the heels and figure-hugging frocks but it’s probably time she took a leaf out of Kourt’s book and stocked up on those maxi dresses.

Winner: Kourtney looked better than ever when she was pregnant but Kimmy’s made more than a few fashion blunders. Kourt wins this one too.

Overall winner

We’re fans of all Kardashians everywhere but when it comes to pregnancy, Kourtney’s got it in the bag. Kim’s lucky she’s got a real pro on hand to help her every step of the way!

Mila Kunis v Michelle Keegan: FHM’s sexiest women Face Off

$

Mila Kunis was crowned the sexiest woman in the world in FHM’s annual top 100 list this week, while Michelle Keegan finished in fourth place. After we ran a poll of Metro readers to find out how they would have ranked the sexy celebs, we decided to pit the top two ladies up against each other. Who were they? Mila and Michelle, of course.

Bodies

There’s no denying that both of these ladies have bodies to die for – why else would they make it into the top 5 of the sexiest women list? Mila might be petite but she has the curves to make up for her lack of height. And her hourglass figure means she makes even tracksuits look sexy.

Mila Kunis

Michelle also has an hourglass figure but while her curves on her bottom-half aren’t quite as pronounced as Mila’s, her top-half trumps her Hollywood rival’s. Keegan’s slim, trim and toned frame means she looks good in whatever she wears.

Michelle Keegan would look good in virtually anything (Picture: WireImage)

Verdict: Michelle has curves in all the right places and because she’s got the curves, the legs AND the cleavage, she just about pips Mila to the post in this round.

This time last year…

Both ladies naturally featured in last year’s FHM Sexiest Women In The World poll. Mila jumped up eight places this year after being given the ninth spot in 2012. No doubt her sexy magazine photoshoots, endearing interviews (remember that Radio 1 interview with Scott Mills’ apprentice Chris Stark?) and the fact she’s one of Hollywood’s hottest exports all helped her top ranking.

Mila Kunis
Mila’s adorable interviews may have helped her popularity this year (Picture: YouTube)

Sizzling Michelle featured on the 2012 list too but at a mere 26. She managed to up her sex appeal by an incredible 22 places this year – a huge jump. The Coronation Street babe’s new appeal probably had something to do with a sexy FHM photoshoot she did, some dazzling red carpet appearances and her new romance with Essex heartthrob Mark Wright.

Michelle Keegan

Verdict: Jumping 22 places is a huge feat and means Michelle wins this round as well. Mila has stayed around the top for two consecutive years but Michelle has proven she’s getting sexier with age.

Arm candy

Every sexy lady has to have an equally dishy piece of arm candy and Mila certainly ticks this box with the gorgeous Ashton Kutcher. They’ve been dating for 10 months and apart from the odd sighting in Central Park or at a basketball game, they manage to keep their romance out of the spotlight.

Mila Kunis and Ashton Kutcher
Mila Kunis has Ashton Kutcher as arm candy (Picture: Xposurephotos.com)

Michelle should also be proud of herself as she bagged former TOWIE star Mark Wright. They’ve been dating since last year’s Dubai New Year’s Eve party got raunchy and like Mila and Ashton, they like their private lives private, despite the paps wanting the opposite. ‘Marchelle’ are one of the UK’s hottest couples right now; both being tanned, toned and totally sexy.

Mark Wright and Michelle Keegan

Verdict: Mila wins this round hands down. Mark might be sex on legs but not even his sculpted stubble, tanned skin or bulging biceps can top Beverly Hills’ boy-next-door Ashton.

Overall winner: Our girl Michelle wins this week’s face off with a 2/1 verdict. She’s proven her sexy worth by landing a spot in this year’s FHM sexiest women top 5 and has the body of a catwalk model. She might not have Ashton Kutcher, but who could complain waking up next to Mark Wright?

Miley Cyrus v Rihanna: Maxim’s Hot 100 Face Off

Rihanna and Miley Cyrus
Rihanna and Miley Cyrus go head-to-head in this week’s Face Off (Picture: Getty)

Miley Cyrus came out on top in Maxim’s Hot 100 list this week but here at Guilty Pleasures we reckon Rihanna – who came in third place behind Selena Gomez – should have nabbed the top spot. The former Disney princess may have triumphed this time around but who will be crowned the winner of this week’s Celebrity Face Off?

Sex appeal

Rihanna is quite possibly THE most sexiest woman in the world. The 25-year-old songbird can grind like no other, pull off a provocative pose better than a Playboy pro and has lyrics so dirrrrty you need to wash your ears out after catching one of her tunes on the radio.

Miley Cyrus went to extreme lengths to shed her Hannah Montana image but the 20-year-old actress kinda bypassed sex appeal en route to shaven tomboy queen. We’re not really feeling the punk rocker look she’s championing nowadays but we know she’s got the potential to be a real sex bomb.

Winner: Like Rihanna, Miley is fond of flashing the flesh in a good ol’ selfie although RiRi. Nevertheless, RiRi what it takes to turn on men and women alike and wins this round.

Rihanna
Rihanna oozes sex appeal like no other (Picture: Getty)

Dare to wear

Rihanna looks good in anything. Yes, ANYTHING. She even managed to make boiler suits look sexy in Battleship. She’s body-confident and isn’t afraid to experiment with new styles, bold prints, plunging necklines and daring hemlines. It’s the skimpier the better as far as RiRi is concerned and her fans just can’t get enough.

Miley definitely has guts when it comes to her wardrobe. She’s always got her hot bod on show and with that figure, we don’t blame her.

Winner: Until Miley is prepared to ditch her Dr. Martens and wrap-around jumpers, RiRi wins this one.

Miley Cyrus

Men

It may look like she has it all but the one thing our favourite Bajan beauty is missing is a stable relationship. RiRi may or may not be dating her former flame Chris Brown (who knows!) and hasn’t met any significant others along the road either. She’s been open about wanting to settle down and have kids, though.

We’re not sure whether Miley is still engaged to Liam Hemsworth either. These two insist on being impeccably private when it comes to their relationship which is pretty frustrating for the rest of us desperate to know whether our favourite Hunger Games hunk is back on the market.

Winner: We’re not sure whether she’s even with her fiancé right now but Miley’s lovelife has certainly played out better than Rihanna’s. At least she’s had a proposal!

At 20 year old we’re guessing Miley’s still trying to find herself when it comes to her sense of style and whether or not she’s ready to commit. RiRi has it all if you ask us and is this week’s worthy winner.

Cara Delevingne v Kate Moss: Celebrity Face-Off

Face off: Cara Delevingne and Kate Moss (Picture: Getty)

Cara Delevingne has been dubbed the new ‘it’ girl but here at Guilty Pleasures we think no-one can strut down a catwalk or strike a pose quite like Kate Moss. Cara may be on every designer’s wish list but Kate has years of experience on her. But who will be crowned the winner of this week’s Celebrity Face Off?

Controversies

Kate Moss is probably one of the most-talked-about models because of the skeletons in her closet. Famously dropped from a number of high profile endorsement deals because she was allegedly snapped snorting cocaine off a table, she has gone on to bigger and better things.

Cara was relatively quiet on the controversies front until she dropped a suspicious-looking bag of white powder outside her front door. No word from the 20-year-old on what it was, but it definitely got people talking and high-street giants H&M said they were ‘investigating’ the incident.

Winner: Nice try Cara but Kate was far more scandalous in her heyday and did more than get caught with dodgy-looking powder. So Kate wins this round hands down.

Social circle

Kate basically formed the Primrose Hill set and has partied with some of the greats in her time. From staying out until all hours with the likes of Sadie Frost to sunning herself on Sir Philip Green’s yacht.

Cara is building an impressive social circle with her ‘wifey’ Rita Ora. She has recently joined forces with original party girl Paris Hilton and can count Rihanna as one of her pals. Even Harry Styles has been spotted out with the leggy blonde.

Winner: We think Cara just nabs this round as she has been clever and surrounded herself with the ‘hot young’ party crew. Whether they have the same staying power as Kate and her pals remains to be seen but for now Cara is on top.

Barbadian pop star Rihanna was seen at her LFW (London Fashion Week) show for River Island where model Cara Delevingne attended the event. Rihanna & Rihanna & Cara Delevingne then went out clubbing together at the Box night club until 3.30am in Soho. Rihanna left the club with Cara but Riri was sporting a small cut on her knee from the pair antics inside the club. Rihanna's bodyguard was injured outside the night club after a altercation with a member of public who threw a bottle of Lucozade towards the celebrity pair as the body guard tried to stop the male he hurt his leg and was taken to a London hospital for treatment. Rihanna looked very fashionable for her night out sporting a large pair of silve rhigh heels with a LBD (Little Black Dress) & a black leather jacket with black sunglasses. Cara also looked amazing wearing a hoody over a low cut red top and a pair of denim hot pants and a pair of thigh high black leather boots. Cara as she arrived home after her night out also flash
Cara has added Rihanna to her list of famous pals (Picture: Splash)

Men

Kate has dated some hot and powerful men before deciding The Kills rocker Jamie Hince was the right man for her. She’s dated Johnny Depp, Jefferson Hack and Pete Doherty (but we don’t really want to count that one).

Cara also seems to have a taste for musicians as she’s been linked to Harry Styles and Jake Bugg. She’s even taken things up a notch by admitting she has an interest in the ladies also.

Winner: Cara may have the best of both worlds but Kate finally got her man and married him. Jamie Hince is someone we imagine Harry Styles wishes he could be like but, sadly, being linked to a bloke in a boyband just doesn’t cut it. No question – Kate wins.

Overall winner

Kate has been around longer and will continue to be a sought-after supermodel. While Cara is the flavour of the moment there’s no telling whether she has the same kind of long-term appeal as Ms Moss. Kate is irreplaceable if you ask us – and this week’s worthy winner.

Ant & Dec v Holly Willoughby and Reggie Yates: Celebrity Face Off

$

When it comes to reality talent shows, one presenter isn’t enough. That’s why the BBC teamed Holly Willoughby with Reggie Yates to oversee proceedings on The Voice, and comedy duo Ant & Dec front ITVs variety juggernaut Britain’s Got Talent. While we won’t dispute that two heads are better than one, which presenting pairing will come out on top in our Celebrity Face Off?

Double Act

Loveable host Reggie, 29, had a long history of working with Fern Cotton (who, coincidentally, Holly Willoughby, 32, worked with on Celebrity Juice) as they hosted music show Top Of The Pops together and later shared a show on BBC Radio 1. Holly, meanwhile, has co-hosted multiple shows including Dancing On Ice and This Morning with Philip Schofield. While both have experience of working with others, they have only worked together for a brief period of time – and also spend a lot of time apart on The Voice.

Inseparable since they started out together in Byker Grove in the 80s, Ant & Dec, both 37, have fronted SM:TV Live and CD:UK, and have been Simon Cowell’s choice to front BGT since it began – after impressing him during their hosting position on Pop Idol back in 2001.

Winner: With such a long history of working together that they are essentially one person, the winners in this round can only be Anthony McPartlin and Declan Donnelly.

The boys experienced a short-lived music career as PJ & Duncan (Picture: PA)
Ant & Dec experienced a short-lived music career as PJ & Duncan in the 90s (Picture: PA)

Sex Appeal

Reggie is a bit of a hunk and is currently modelling his own designs in a campaign for high-street fashion chain, Burton. Meanwhile Holly has been a fan favourite for years thanks to her curvaceous body, blonde locks and preference to wear anything that shows off her cleavage. Hubba hubba!

While Geordie boys Ant & Dec  scrub up well in their suits, they still have that innocent school boy look going on. Over-grown boys in suits has never been a sexy look – and it’s not going to start here.

Winner: Sorry A n’ D. You’re just too plain. Holly and Reggie are bonafide sex bombs and win this round.

The Voice, Holly Willoughby, Reggie Yates

Brand Loyalty

Despite the savage reception from critics and troubled viewer ratings, both Reggie and Holly have been vocal of their love for their BBC talent show. Reg had only positive things to say about his experience on the show when Guilty Pleasures cornered him at a recent press launch, and Holly gushed about her love for The Voice while on the TV BAFTAs red carpet. Brand loyalty couldn’t come stronger.

There is no disputing that Ant & Dec love their work. They have co-hosted Britain’s Got Talent for its entire seven-year run, remaining upbeat and jolly despite years of painful auditions. But the boys harbour a dark side that was revealed when Kelly Brook joined the show in 2009, stealing some of the limelight away from the Geordie boys. The lads took offence and campaigned for Brook to get the boot – and she was removed after just a few days filming. Not nice, guys.

Winner: While Ant & Dec give 100% whenever they are involved in any show, their bitchy behaviour on BGT has cost them their position in this round, handing the points to Holly and Reggie who remain unphased by their own shows troubles.

Overall winners

Proving it pays to be sexy and nice, Holly and Reggie have walked away with the top award in this battle of the co-presenters. While the future of The Voice may be uncertain, it will be remembered for the warm reception the two stars provide.

Sharon Osbourne v Nicole Sherzinger: X Factor Face Off

The countdown to Christmas has officially begun (groan) as The X Factor series 10 kicked off in Glasgow on Tuesday.

There will be no escaping reports of back-stage tantrums, misguided egos, and style disasters – and that’s just the judges – from now until the winner makes their bid for the festive number one.

With Tulisa ousted from the show (and dealing with her own dramas) the seat was left open for a triumphant return for Sharon Osbourne. On the same judging panel as the ever-glamorous Nicole Scherzinger, which of these feisty ladies will be crowned winner in this week’s Celebrity Face Off?

Sex appeal

Nicole Scherzinger has been cashing in on her sex appeal since she exploded onto the music scene in 2005 as the front-woman of The Pussycat Dolls. Gyrating around in music videos and showcasing her impressive body – Nicole is sexy. And she knows it.

Sharon Osbourne has, of course, often spoken about calling on her surgeon (who she praises) to help her keep young. But with her authoritative stance, you know she’d be able to take control – which has its own certain appeal.

These ladies could cater for different lustful needs, but Nicole wins this round for being generally hot. Shazza does have a special something, but she might also be slightly intimidating.

File photo daed 23/01/13 of Nicole Scherzinger whose use of the term "effing" in a live edition of The X Factor results show was unsuitable for a pre-watershed audience, according to TV regulator Ofcom. Style status

With her incredibly toned body, Nicole makes a perfect clothes horse for the X Factor stage. She has dazzled in Stephanie Rolland Haute Couture, Sass & Bide, Alexander McQueen – and even impressing in Topshop – during her role as a judge. There’s no doubt she has many fine frocks in her wardrobe.

While Sharon tends to shun the flowing ballgowns for her appearances, she still looks the business when she takes her chair on the judging panel. Her power-suits are almost as sharp as her tongue, and when she does glam up she generally dresses well and doesn’t wear what many would think would be ‘too young’ for a woman of her experience.

While Nicole has the glamour, Sharon looks like she knows what she’s talking about – meaning she just snatches this round.

Bitchy put downs

On the whole Nicole is pretty polite to everyone on the show. Even the awful performers – like Christopher Maloney – will get some positive feedback. Sure, her comments can sometimes be a bit bonkers (‘You found your balls!’) but they’re never nasty.

With Sharon, no one is safe. She gave Steve Brookstein a very public dressing down live on air saying: ‘He’s a fake, he’s not fabulous. That is bull**** that he puts out each week. He is overly confident – he has been full of himself from the first day – and an average singer.’

But even the other judges aren’t safe from her feisty attitude. She famously threw a glass of water over Louis Walsh in series two, would often have her finger in Simon Cowell’s face, and don’t even mention Dannii Minogue… Louis has the experience, but do Nicole and Gary know what’s in store?

Shazza wins this round hands down. After two series of lacklustre ratings, it would be possible to suspect the X Factor producers want her back on the panel for her outrageous comments alone.

With only one year of X Factor style and come-backs under her belt, Nicole still has much to explore – no matter how sexy she may be. But Sharon, with her experience, fierce attitude, and cutting remarks, can take the title of this Face Off.

Simon Cowell v David Walliams: Britain’s Got Talent Face Off

David Walliams and Simon Cowell
David Walliams and Simon Cowell’s Britain’s Got Talent bromance has gone from strength to strength this series (Picture: Xposurephotos.com)

David Walliams affinity with Simon Cowell has reached new heights across this current series of Britain’s Got Talent. David has upped the teasing, poking and prodding this year and even treated Si to a saucy lapdance during the initial audition rounds. These two make the perfect double act but who will come out on top in our Celebrity Face Off?

Charm

He’s smug, arrogant, vain and uncompromising but Simon Cowell has that special charm that men and ladies alike struggle to resist. His very presence on reality TV show panels brings in the killer ratings and we’re assuming it’s his delectable charm that keeps his bevvy of ex-girlfriends wanting more.

David Walliams’ exhibitionist nature is very endearing. He’s doesn’t care what people think, isn’t afraid to back the underdog and isn’t afraid to be himself either.

Winner: Although David is arguably the most likable, Cowell must be doing something right to keep all the entire human race – whether they love him or love to loathe him – wanting more.  Cowell wins this round.

Simon Cowell and David Walliams
David has a real knack of bringing out Simon’s playful side (Picture: PA)

Campness

Si tries to keep a lid on his inner camp but we just know he secretly loves all those drag acts Walliams has fought for on the show.

Walliams on the other hand doesn’t stop dancing, clapping, giggling and squealing. And he’s definitely the instigator when it comes his bromance with Mr Cowell.

Winner: Where Walliams is as camp as they come, Simon struggles to let him self go, even when he’s hauled up on to his feet by his mischievous co-judge. David wins.

BGT, Britain's Got Talent, Simon Cowell
The boys aren’t afraid to parade their special bond in front of the nation (Picture: PA)

Who wears the trousers?

Simon may be the toughest judge on reality TV as we know it but if anything can topple this TV magnate from his podium of power it’s his Achilles heel David Walliams. Walliams can make his fellow BGT judge squirm like nobody before.

David Walliams’ happy-go-lucky nature makes him a great antidote to Simon’s mood swings and catty quips. He’s happy to admit he’s Simon’s ‘puppet’ but we reckon he’s underestimating the influence he has on his boss.

Winner: Although Simon would like to have us believe he’s in control, the fact a man dressed as a nun dancing with a broom got into the live semi-finals had camp David written all over it. David wins again.

Overall winner

Simon and David’s affections are as much a part of the show as the acts themselves. We can no longer imagine one without the other. We do not know how Simon copes when he’s stuck on The X Factor USA’s judging panel without his camp pal. We can only begin to imagine what Simon really thinks of David’s wife Lara Stone and their newborn babe who consume so much of David’s time. David definitely has a hold on Simon and, therefore, wins this week’s Face Off!

Face Off: Who’s more fierce? Big Brother’s Bit On The Side Rylan Clark and The Face star Naomi Campbell battle it out

Stern glances. Sharp wits. Bitchiness. These elements are necessary whenever fronting a reality show and both Rylan Clark and Naomi Campbell have these qualities at their disposal for their respective roles on Big Brother’s Bit On The Side and The Face.

But which of these long legged beauties would win in a best-of-three contest? Let’s find out…

Glamour

Rylan is well used to maintaining his strict grooming regime. Dousing himself in fake tan, sculpting his facial hair to accentuate his jawline and shedding the pounds to get himself into perfect shape has served him well as he made the transformation from ‘fat and ginger’ (his words) to lean and glamorous(ish). Presenting Big Brother’s Bit On The Side, the TV star also had Twitter ablaze when he debuted impossibly white teeth after adding veneers to his upgraded look. He is a friend of glamour model Katie Price and was mentored on The X Factor by former Pussycat Doll Nicole Scherzinger.

As one of the biggest supermodels of all time, ladies don’t get more glamorous than Naomi. She has walked the catwalks for everyone from Dolce & Gabbana to Yves Saint Laurent and sexed up the covers of Vogue, ELLE and GQ. Being a natural beauty, Naomi has attracted her fair share of high profile men including Mike Tyson, Robert De Niro and Formula One head Flavio Briatore. She counts Kate Moss and Claudia Schiffer among her friends and Nelson Mandela has even dubbed her his ‘honorary granddaughter’.

While Rylan has worked hard to achieve the body he wants and the circle of friends he has gathered, he cannot compete with the power of Naomi with her beauty, style and high-powered connections. She claims this first round.

Rylan Clark on Big Brother's Bit on the Side
Blinding! Rylan’s personal make-over has been quite a work in progress – with his white teeth dazzling BBBOTS viewers (Picture: PLANET PHOTOS)

The Bitch Factor

As a contestant on The X Factor, Rylan was the ‘novelty’ act of last year’s competition. Shaking his moves on the stage in gold outfits had its appeal, but the nation was split over whether his performances were inspired or irritating. Gary Barlow who did his best to demoralise Ry after every performance. However, the X Factor contestant gave as good as he got – reminding Gary of his camp musical beginnings in Take That to the cheers of the studio audience.  Rylan’s own judge, Nicole Scherzinger, has said she has created ‘a monster’ when she revealed in March that he had snubbed her on a number of occasions and become more of a diva.

Naomi has been well known to lash out – both verbally and physically – clocking up ten accusations of committing acts of violence between 1998 and 2008 alone. She knows how to fire off insults, put people in their place, and has demonstrated her fiery personality on too many occasions (not forgetting her disdain at being summoned to court to give evidence in the Charles Taylor trial which she referred to as a ‘big inconvenience’). Having mentored models that have followed in her footsteps, Naomi demonstrated she’s willing to pull the rug from under them earlier this year as former protégée Luo Zilin found herself fired from her modelling agency after photographs of her getting intimate with Naomi’s boyfriend, Vladimir Doronin, surfaced online. Although Naomi has not been quoted as arranging for the youngster’s career to be crushed, it does seem to be a bit of a coincidence that she suffered this fate considering Naomi’s lover was involved.

While turning on your own mentor is a pretty bitchy thing to do, Rylan really can’t compete with the truly terrifying wrath of Naomi. She wins this round hands down.

Presenting style

With his experience on The X Factor, Rylan knows how to entertain the crowds. He was given a further chance to connect with the public when he appeared in Celebrity Big Brother back in January – and won. He has built up presenting credits on Daybreak and This Morning before landing his BBBOTS role in May. Proving himself as something of a natural, Ry has been a hit in most projects he’s been involved in as he presents himself as pretty down to Earth – even with the occasional hysterical tears.

Fierce. That is the only way to describe Naomi in her role as a coach on the US model search show The Face. Raising her voice, waving her finger, and correcting contestants on how to pronounce the name Kate Moss (Moss – not Mosh, FYI) Naomi has shown typically fiery flare in her approach in the reality show. While viciously loyal to her own contestants, Naomi also wouldn’t hold back with her criticisms – making her all the more terrifying.

While there is no debating that Naomi is in an unbeatable position to dispense advice to aspiring models, she doesn’t really give much of an impression you could go to her for a cry when things go wrong. Rylan, on the other hand, just seems pretty fun and like he’d be a laugh down the pub. He wins this time.

Despite winning the final round as being a bit of a nice guy, it was too little too late for Rylan as he was already trounced by Ms Campbell who wins this week’s contest.

All about the boys: Andy Jordan and Niall Horan in the latest Celebrity Face Off (Photo by Ben Pruchnie/Getty Images)

It has all been kicking off in Made In Chelsea ever since Andy Jordan discovered his pretty girlfriend Louise Thompson had allegedly spent a night with One Direction heartthrob Niall Horan.

The 1D hunk apparently serenaded the brunette with his guitar but now Jordan has apparently  banned his girl from spending any more time with the 19-year-old.

Who do you think should win the celebrity face off? Let’s examine the evidence.

Looks

Little Things singer Niall has wholesome appeal. With his blond hair, sparkling blue eyes, and clean cut image he has women the world over falling at their knees. Stylewise he looks just as dishy in a plain white T-shirt as he does dressed up in black tie. There ain’t nothing this lad can do to look bad.

Made In Chelsea star Andy has the brooding tall, dark and handsome looks that many a lady would throw themselves at. Of course he has used his looks to win over more than one MIC cast member, however his flaring nostrils can be a bit unsettling as they look like they could hoover up surrounding items – if not, the world.

A close call here as both boys are certainly dashing, but Niall wins by a nose – since I think Andy’s nostrils look like a threat to global safety.

Irish charmer: One Direction's Niall Horan has made many fans hysterical (Photo: PRESS ASSOCIATION)
Irish charmer: One Direction’s Niall Horan has made many fans hysterical (Photo: PRESS ASSOCIATION)

Personality

Docile Niall is nothing short of loveable. He’s always polite, can often be found tweeting his love and thanks to fans, and has kept himself out of trivial feuds that some of his other One Direction bandmates get dragged into.

Andy has been the victim of the occasional threat from fellow MIC star Spencer – although he doesn’t generally go looking for trouble. He has a kind-of nice personality, but there was something a little bit sleazy about the way he stalked down Louise during the course of his show. However,  those who aren’t the object of his affection tend to get along well with the star.

Niall wins this round easily. With his Irish charms and warm approach to fans, it just goes to show he is one of those genuinely nice guys. Andy lets himself down by being slightly obsessive and, to be blunt, methinks a bit creepy.

Andy Jordan - Made In Chelsea
Headache: Andy can’t beath Niall in this round… (Picture: E4)

Dating technique

Just imagine Niall playing guitar for you. Alone. In his bedroom. Need we say more?

Andy has proved that he is a bit of a pro at the wining and dining experience. Plus he is up for getting naked in the hot tub – which has its own special appeal.

A draw? While Niall’s music skill gives him instant win credentials, Andy has to be commended for his dating ability. Yet he’s not a member of One Direction. So we can’t quite decide who should win this round.

Niall Horan
Please serenade: The 1D charmer has a fantastic voice (Picture: Getty)

Overall winner

As a member of one of the biggest boybands of all time – combined with handsome looks and personal charms – Niall had won this contest before it even began. But at least Andy can probably console himself with the knowledge that Niall is probably too busy touring the world to steal Louise from him.

Face Off: Cheryl Cole v Mike Tyson – both celebrated birthdays over the weekend, both have been in films, and both have been in fights

Fight! Who will win in the Face Off between Cheryl Cole and Mike Tyson?

Both are heavyweight performers. Both celebrated their birthdays on Sunday. And both are undeniably mega stars in their own fields.

But if Cheryl Cole and Mike Tyson were to step into a metaphorical ring together to battle it out, who would come out on top?

In an unlikely matching, we find out who is best in this week’s Celebrity Face Off.

Birthday Celebrations

Who didn’t know it was Cheryl Cole’s birthday this weekend? She’s been updating fans of her extravagant – reportedly £50K – 30th birthday celebrations on Sunday. She received birthday wishes on Twitter from fans and celebrities in equal measure. She had Girls Aloud bandmates Kimberly Walsh and Nicola Roberts on hand to help celebrate and Calvin Harris was spinning the tunes until 3.45am.

Mike Tyson also celebrated a birthday on Sunday – turning 47. He had his fare share of love on Twitter with countless fans wishing him well and Muscle Fitness magazine tweeting ‘Happy 47th @MikeTyson — Looking good, champ!’ The star himself responded on the micro blogging site to thank his fans saying her felt ‘blessed’ by their support. But while Cheryl was living it up in Vegas, there was little evidence of The Hangover star going wild for his big day – so he must have had a more low key affair.

He might have seemed like fun during filming The Hangover (although that may have been due to him indulging in illicit substances during the shoot) but Mike can’t compete with Chezza in this round.

Partied out: Cheryl Cole and her birthday guests danced until they could do so no more in Vegas for her 30th (Picture: Lisa Laudat/Twitter)

Star Status

Officially the Nations Sweetheart ™ Cheryl has multiple skills and achievements behind her. She won the public over back in 2002 as a contestant on Popstars: The Rivals and has gone on to win awards as a member of girl band Girls Aloud and as a solo artist. She can sing and dance, offered advice and compassion as a judge on The X Factor, has dipped into fashion designing and even broke into Hollywood last year with a cameo in What To Expect When You’re Expecting alongside Cameron Diaz and Jennifer Lopez. With so much achieved in her first 30 years on earth, Cheryl also became a Number One Sunday Times Best Seller with the release of her autobiography Cheryl: My Story. Oh and of course she is a face of L’Oreal.

Mike has evolved from being a star in the ring to the screen with roles in comedy smash films The Hangover and Scary Movie. He has also acted on TV, popping up in How I Met Your Mother and was the focus of a documentary in 2008 titled Tyson. However, the athlete has made a name for himself away from celebrity with numerous arrests and legal problems, a spell in prison, bankruptcy and has been shunned endorsement deals.

While there is no doubt everyone knows who Mike Tyson is, it could be argued he is known more for the wrong reasons than for his sports. And although Mike has worked hard to clean up his act in recent years, Chezza wins this round for her likeability and skills.

Cheryl Cole
Jump for joy: Chezza is an all round star (Photo: Yui Mok/PA Wire)

Fighting Ability

Slogging it out in a hypothetical fight of ‘look at me’ style bragging is one way to pit these two together, but what if they actually did have to face off in the ring? Both have been known for their fighting. Cheryl was prosecuted for attacking a toilet attendant in 2003 and confessed in her autobiography that she lashed out at Ashley Cole after discovering he cheated on her. But away from her impressive right hook, Chezza has also proved she can be just as cutting with her sharp tongue. She has defended herself on social media many times against Lily Allen (now Cooper) and even put former protégé Cher Lloyd in her place after she had the cheek to accuse the Fight For This Love singer for not being able to sing.

Mike is a fighter by profession and has been crowned the heavyweight champion of the world over the course of his career. Able to knock a man out with a single punch, the fighter has even gone beyond boxing – famously biting Evander Holyfield’s ear in a 1996 match leading to his disqualification. With his long history of winning matches – and his occasional dirty tactics – he is a man most would not want to meet in a punch up.

While we can’t imagine Mike would ever actually hit the gorgeous Cheryl, having taken the hard punches over the years it is unlikely her slaps would do him much damage even if he were to just stand there and take them from her. As a result it would be more likely Chez would exhaust herself in the ring and thus lose by default when she was too tired to fight on.

Overall Winner

Both are fighters, but Cheryl has won two matches to one in this week’s Face Off, granting her the overall win.

Face Off: Kristen Stewart v Riley Keough – the Twilight actress and granddaughter of Elvis Presley fight it out over Robert Pattinson

Battle of the babes: Kristen Stewart and Riley Keough have both been linked to Robert Pattinson
Battle of the babes: Kristen Stewart and Riley Keough have both been linked to Robert Pattinson

They  starred together in the 2010 film The Runaways but it has been suggested Kristen Stewart and Riley Keough are sharing something more than screen time.

After being papped in Robert Pattinson’s truck, Riley has only gone and been accused of stealing her former co-star Kristen’s ex-boyfriend! But in this battle of the babes, who would come out on top? We review the facts in this Face Off.

Star Status

She is best known for blockbuster action thanks to the Twilight Saga and Snow White & The Huntsman, but Kristen has also proven she can handle films with more substance – having done turns in Panic Room, The Runaways, and On The Road. She has also scooped a number of awards, including a BAFTA for Rising Star in 2010, multiple People’s Choice awards and the coveted MTV Best Kiss award (with Rob for Twilight) which she has won four times.

She may not have the catalogue of work that K Stew has, but Riley has made some shrewd decisions when picking her roles. She made her debut in 2010 playing Marie Currie opposite Kristen and Dakota Fanning in The Runaways – a biopic of the band of the same name – and has gone on to appear in Magic Mike (directed by Steven Soderbergh). She will next star in Mad Max: Fury Road with Nicholas Hoult and Tom Hardy. Oh – and she also happens to be the daughter of Danny Keough and Lisa Marie Presley – making her the granddaughter of Elvis.

She may have Elvis’ blood running through her veins, but Riley hasn’t quite found mega star status just yet. Round one? Kristen.

A draw! These girls basically look the same. Maybe R Patz is just confused and thinks he was letting Kristen ride in his car?

Past relationships

Kristen hasn’t really dated that many men. She was attached to cute actor Michael Angarano after they starred in Speak together in 2004, but has mostly only had eyes Rob since they got together on the set of Twilight. Until her eyes were caught by Snow White & The Huntsman director Rupert Sanders who she cheated on Rob with.

Having been linked to Nicholas Hoult and engaged to Alex Pettyfer it would seem Riley has a taste for British men. Now linked to R Patz, the Twilight actor has perhaps found a kindred spirit as Riley reportedly called off her wedding to Alex after he allegedly cheated on her with a model.

K Stew did the nasty on R Patz, and Riley knows how it feels to be screwed over. So Elvis’ granddaughter wins this round as she less likely to cheat on sensitive Rob.

Lily Allen V Azealia Banks round two: The ladies are at it again on Twitter
Lily Allen V Azealia Banks round two: The ladies are at it again on Twitter

Ugly words have been exchanged between potty-mouthed rapper Azealia Banks and not-mellowed-by-motherhood singer Lily Allen/Cooper.

The song birds were engaged in a Twitter bust up last week and things flared up again over the weekend after 212 singer Azealia compared Lily’s husband to a thumb, Lily compared Azealia to a penis, and the two argued about who could pull a bigger crowd at a festival.

To say this feud is tedious would be an understatement, but with both ladies clearly after a bit of extra publicity (Lily’s gearing up for a new album and Azealia should be dropping her debut reasonably soon) we explore who would come out on top in a face-off.

Bankability

Much hype has been made of the quick fire raps of Azealia Banks. But just how bankable is she? Her singles haven’t fared too well in the charts, with 212 the highest entry at No.12. But what Azealia lacks in sales she makes up for in critical acclaim with practically everyone hailing her as ‘the next big thing’ – although some of those are from over a year ago. However, she has landed a number of awards (including NME and Billboard) as well as highbrow nominations (including MOBOs and BET awards) and has worked with the likes of Lady Gaga, Kanye West and Diplo.

Lily’s scathing tweets included one saying: ‘ive had 2 kids since 212 dropped and i bet my my album still comes out 1st. bitch is scared of the ball. OUT.’ [sic] (‘my my’ indeed). Lil is alluding to the fact that Azealia has yet to release her debut album despite fanfare from her debut single peaking in 2012. The Fear singer has, by contrast, produced Alright, Still (her 2006 No.2 album) and It’s Not Me, It’s You – her chart topping record. She’s also unleashed four top five singles (two of which were No.1s), collaborated with Professor Green and P!nk and has been nominated for Grammy, Brit and Mercury music awards (just don’t mention Lily Allen and Friends…).

Lily wins this round – although she should maybe watch her back as Azealia has the critics on her side.

Authenticity

Azealia raps with as much of a no-holds-barred approach as she goes about getting into Twitter fights. But the girl from Harlem has had a tough life. At one point she was so poor she and her family lived in a car, but music gave her the get out she needed to follow her dreams. And her raw talent shines through.

Lily burst onto the music scene in 2006 with council estate chic and down-with-the-public style. But beneath the cheap exterior is a hugely privileged girl who went to some of the most expensive schools in the country and grew up in luxury thanks to her famous parents – actor Keith Allen and film producer Alison Owen. Perhaps not as in tune with her own music as Azealia might be, Lily was frequently ridiculed for her live performances as she would forget her own lyrics. Makes you wonder – does she even write her own stuff?

Azealia wins this hands down as she is keeping it real and fierce. Lily, on the other hand, is a bit of a phoney.

Real deal: Azealia Banks seems to be staying true to her routes (Photo: Venturelli/WireImage)

Attitude

Azealia is… kind of scary. She’s definitely not afraid to mouth off and tell it how it is. She speaks her mind, stays true to her roots and will keep an argument burning even after she feels she’s made her point. Plus she managed to gain credibility early without help from others…

Lily is something of a paradox. She can look like butter wouldn’t melt – but she can be just as potty mouthed as her latest rival. Lily practically built her fame on slugging insults at other stars on MySpace, Twitter and in the press (from Girls Aloud to Perez Hilton) – which often overshadowed her music. And yet most people who meet her claim she is lovely and down to earth. So maybe she’s just a nice girl?

Azealia isn’t afraid to throw an insult – and keep hitting home her point without an apology. Lily seems to flit from naughty to nice, so how do we know when she’s being serious? Banks wins.

Overall winner

Lily might have the record sales, but her routine is getting tired. We’ve heard her make cheap digs at other stars for the past seven years and it only looks like there will be more now that she is working on her return to music. Azealia produces something fresh – not just with her music, but with her attitude. So the rap star wins.

Face off: Johnny Depp v Sacha Baron Cohen for Freddie Mercury role

Sacha Baron Cohen may bear a resemblance to Freddie Mercury but looks were not enough to persuade the remaining members of Queen to let him loose on a biopic of the late frontman.

The comedy actor dared to suggest Oscar-winning director Tom Hooper and Bafta winner David Fincher should work on a  gritty adaptation of his life.

But the ageing rockers apparently rejected the proposal in favour of a sugar-coated PG version of the musician’s life.

Now it appears  Johnny Depp is reportedly being lined up to take Borat’s place.

But which of these actors would be the winner overall? Let’s find out in this week’s Face Off.

Star Power

From Ali G to Les Mis, Sacha has had a steady rise to power over the last 13 years. He has stirred up controversy on the way by making fun of  politicians  and offending  practically every Arab nation with his character Borat,  yet  all the while managing to create many laughs along the way. If anything it would be a delight to watch him take on a serious role – and playing Freddie Mercury would have been his big chance.

Johnny Depp started out as a brilliantly talented character actor but his star has started to wane in the last few months. While he may have made some  money with the recent blockbuster Alice In Wonderland,  news that The Lone Ranger is on track to be a box office flop suggest his career needs a lift.

Johnny wins this round as he is still A-list – but he needs to watch his back as his career is looking tired and Sacha is primed to steal the limelight.

Singing Ability

The boys both appeared in the musical Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber Of Fleet Street and both can carry a tune. And while Johnny went on to sing a little ditty in Charlie And The Chocolate Factory, Sacha went on to be in a real musical when he turned up in Les Miserables this year.

Sacha is going for a song and appeared in an Oscar-winning musical. He steals this round.

Likeness to Freddie

Sacha is the spitting image of the Queen frontman. Enough said.

Do we really need to spell this one out? Johnny doesn’t look anything like him so would need a lot of cosmetic help. Plus he’s American and Mr Mercury is one of the most legendary musicians ever produced by the UK – imagine a Brit playing Elvis Presley in a biopic? The American’s would never allow that.

Sacha wins.

Overall winner

While Johnny has been ruling the box office for the last three decades, it looks like it’s time for someone else to enjoy the limelight. And for a Freddie Mercury biopic Sacha is the only choice (even if Brian May doesn’t think so). The comedian wins over the chameleon this time.

Face off: Lana Del Rey v Lady Gaga – The ladies go head-to-head after the track So Legit sparks a debate

It takes a brave woman to have a pop at Lady Gaga as the wrath of her ‘Little Monsters’ knows no bounds (as Kelly Osbourne can testify.).

But it would seem Lana Del Rey has thrown caution to the wind as her track called So Legit that was leaked online last week appears to slate Gaga.

A feud has been sparked between both sets of fans yet the  the ladies have remained surprisingly silent on teh subject with Gaga focusing on the release on her new music and Lana out shopping for a house with her lover.

But who would come out on top if pitted against the other? We put Lana Del Rey and Lady Gaga into a Face Off.

Chart success

Lana scored a Mo.1 album in 2012 with Born To Die, but her other efforts have failed to dazzle. Video Games and Born To Die (the single) both peaked at No.9, while everything else has struggled to make the top 40.

Lady G has had a lot of chart success. All three of her albums have hit the top spot and she has produced nine top 10 hits (five of them going to No.1). While her Born This Way album failed to produce any No.1 singles, her recent disappearance from the limelight will probably have fans clamouring for new material when it is released next month.

The figures can’t be denied – Lana will need to shift a lot of records to ever compete with Gaga (who was recently crowned by Forbes as the highest paid celeb under 30. Ker-ching!)

Stage presence

Lana is very hit or miss with her performing. Fans were wowed by her recent Paradise tour, but a lot of her televised appearances have been blasted for being flat and boring. Although it is difficult to sound upbeat when singing about heartache.

The Lady sure knows how to put on a show. Pyrotechnics, burning pianos, meat dresses. An appearance by Lady Gaga is never short of a spectacle. Normally stars create a tonne of distraction to hide the fact they can’t sing, but Gaga has the lungs to match the lavish outfits and set designs.

With Lana’s reputation for singing like a wet fish, there is no contest in this round. Points to Gaga.

Sex appeal

Before Lana Del Rey there was Elizabeth ‘Lizzy’ Grant. A pretty girl with natural beauty. As part of her reinvention, she re-emerged in a different light with many suspecting she had some ‘work’ done. She’s still a pretty gal but she kind of looked sweeter before.

With all the wigs, crazy costumes, lumpy implants, cross dressing, etc, it’s difficult to actually see how beautiful the woman behind Gaga is. Until now. For her new campaign in the run up to the release of Artpop, the singer has stripped down to what Mother Nature gave her and her beauty has been allowed to shine.

A draw? Both ladies are lookers, but show it off best when they let their natural beauty shine.

Overall verdict

While Lana has done well so far with her dreamy music that has been loved by fans and critics alike, there really is no competition when it comes to the musical might of Lady G. The Born This Way singer wins this contest with ease.
